Growth Mindset vs Fixed Mindset

And... We are back to lockdown again which means distance learning. These last two weeks for reading we learnt about growth mindsets and why they are better than a fixed one. For our work we had to make a google drawing about someone we thought showed a growth mindset, I choose Pippa Funnell! Here is my google drawing.

Here is the link for a closer look.

Who do you think shows a growth mindset!

Thank you for reading!

  1. Kia ora Lily,

Yep, lockdown again. I guess we have done pretty well considering Auckland is into their 5th lockdown! Imagine that.

I find your DLO to be readable and clear to understand. You have put some effort into the presentation. I wonder if there was a bit more you could have done to make it even more eye catching and to highlight the different key parts to your explanation? Check out Katrina's blog for a different take on the task.

In answer to your question, I think that lots of people show growth mindset. I was really taken by this when watching Emma Twigg win her medal a few weeks ago. Her story is very much of grit and growth mindset. I think I have a number of friends that also show this. What about you? How does this idea relate to your own feelings about growth mindset?

Keep up the great learning and blogging,

  2. Hi Lily

Great job on your reading task for the week. I had never heard of Pippa Funnell before reading your task, she sounds like an amazing person!

Your DLO is set out well and easy to read, I like the border you have added in. You have also included some great information about Pippa.

I have been watching some of the Paralympics on tv and I think a lot of these athletes have shown a growth mindset.

Keep up the great work :)
